Google Glass teaches us how to launch a product

Google Glass teaches us how to launch a product

As soon as Glass got out into the world, Takayama and her colleagues were surprised to see its manifold uses. Glass had been viewed mainly as a utility for the busy and on-the-go, a kind of on-face extension of the smartphone. But many uses were more casual: “The camera was often used for capturing moments that otherwise it would be hard to capture, like when toddler needs help to walk,” says Takayama. A whole new genre of pet video spawned–ones where the user had both hands free to play with and prompt their cat, dog, or hamster.

Google made an appeal to the common man with the Explorer Edition. They have me persuaded. How about you? FastCompany tells us about the lessons we’ve learned thus far.

13% of Americans are already sure they want to buy Google Glass

Although still in its “Explorer” stage and so not yet available on the market, 24% of Americans are already keen to purchase the device – with 13% saying they definitely want it and another 11% claiming they’d buy it if the initial reviews are favorable.

That’s amazing, quite frankly.

Don’t get the stereo headset, just use this little hack

Don’t get the stereo headset, just use this little hack

On a whim I picked up the micro USB to 3.5 adapter pictured below for $10, paired it with my own headset and OH MY LIFE it blows the official stereo headset out of the ballpark utterly. It looks a little goofy but the sound really is way superior.  The amazing thing to me is just how good the audio glass can produce is , it’s easily on a par with my phone.

This guy decided to use a $10 adapter from Amazon over Google’s stereo earbuds for Glass. It turned out well. Hit the link above.

Take a look at these Google Glass prescription frames

Take a look at these Google Glass prescription frames

Received the new Google GLASS frames today. I went with Thin in Charcoal. They look fantastic. I never liked the standard band that GLASS came with and often didn’t wear them because I didn’t like they look on my big head. I also feel like they fit better. I am pretty excited about these frames. I am going to send them off for prescription lenses today. Can’t wait until they get back!

One Google+ user received his frames today. They look awesome. Hit the link above to go to his original post.
